So for Duc, the only thing left to explore at his new endeavor inside the Golden Phoenix was Chinese—the father, so-to-speak, of all East Asian cuisine.
A very long tradition. But Chinese food is in my blood. Duc was born in Hanoi. His mother is Vietnamese and his father was Chinese.
I watched my aunts and uncles cook and was always interested in food. There, they were then given two options for emigration—West Berlin or Chile.
He was just six years old. I will take these feast dishes. That my aunts and uncles did. And do it better. The whole family comes together on the day their relative died and everyone cooks, eats, and drinks.
But before the family sits down, a portion of each dish, as well as tea and alcohol, are set out as offerings. Then one is allowed to ask their ancestor for luck in life.
Whole houses to burn! At the Golden Phoenix, Duc will bring together traditional French techniques with the complex, ancient flavor combinations of Chinese cooking.
This is very refined in Chinese cuisine. They have deep spices. Soy sauce, of course. Both Tarek and Seher, were very friendly and worked hard to make sure we were all having a good time and getting all the food and drinks our taste buds desired!
Service was really fantastic and the quality of my meals and cocktails were evident! The beef buns and honey almond tempura prawns were excellent starters and the pepper steak was perfect and tender!
The meat and prawns were of excellent quality and decently sized, which one would expect for the price. What really impressed me was the quality of the beef and the excellent service!
The music was good too! Thanks guys, especially Tarek for the great recommendations, expertly mixed cocktails and professional friendly service!
Had a wonder ful dinner at the restaurant when we stayed at Provocateur Hotel. We ate the tasting menu with 15 dishes.
Everything was very good with interesting combinations and flavors. Elegant without being overworked - top class! We were unfortunately seated behind a pillar, next to a serving station and on rather squat and uncomfortable chairs.
It is a place of theatre and we had hoped for Hakasan style food - which is nearly there just lacked a bit of punch. That could also be down to meeting the needs of the German pallet.
I would be careful as a couple not to be put to the back. Funky bar and seemed to do groups well. Went there for Christmas Dinner, as we were already staying at the hotel and this was the restaurant that the staff ad highly recommended.
Most of the dishes were average and way too salty, and the most interesting dishes were also barely a 3 our of 5 stars.
The chocolate dessert fondant with pumpkin ice cream on the side was good, probably the best dish we had that night. Overall, not worth the hype, and quite expensive as well.
The vibe is fantastic, the atmosphere is great and the scenery is smashing. Spicy beef and the chicken was appreciated heavily in my group.
